Right to access

You as a parent have the right of access to your child any time during the hours/days of operation of Amazing Kidz World  You also have the right to access your child’s client records, progress reports and class room folders. If you have any questions or concerns please feel free to talk with our management staff.  If we cannot solve your problem/concern to your satisfaction we are licensed by the Oregon Child Care Division who may also be able to help you.  Their point of contact and telephone number are listed on our information bulletin board.

Discipline policy

Amazing Kidz World  believes that when a child misbehaves they need to be re-directed in a firm but gentle way.  Below are the guidelines we will use to ensure your child is treated with respect and dignity when being corrected.

The first time a child misbehaves they will be given a gentle reminder.

If the child again misbehaves for the same thing they will be re-directed to a different activity.

If the child is still not behaving they will be redirected to a different activity in a different area of the classroom if possible.

If the child is still misbehaving the teacher has the option to remove the child from the classroom to the office so the child can think about their behavior and correct it before returning to class.

Every effort will be made to correct the behavior in the classroom without removing the child from the classroom, but a few exceptions are:

a. If the child is hurting himself.

b.  If the child is hurting another child.

c.  If the child is hurting their teacher.

d.  If the child is placing their self/fellow classmate/teacher in an unsafe situation.

e.  If the child is using inappropriate language.

Items to bring

You will need to bring an extra change of clothing as needed and a nap blanket and crib size sheet.  You may also bring a small pillow if your child is used to using a pillow and a small stuffed toy to sleep with.  Please ensure that your child is dressed properly for the weather.  You will need to provide sweaters and warm coats/jackets as the weather gets colder. Please make sure your child wears socks to daycare.

Electronic toy(s) policy

Please do not bring any type of electronic toys to school.  This includes all game systems, I-pods, electronic cars, robots etc.

Nut free center and bringing treats

With so many children having various food types of allergies we have chosen to be a nut free center.  Please read the package carefully if you are providing a treat for your child’s class to ensure it was processed in a nut free way.  Treats are always welcome but they must be commercially made and in the original wrapper.  No treats that are homemade can be accepted.  We provide a healthy lunch at 11:00/11:30 and 2 snacks each day.  Parents may send/bring special snacks or provide treats for birthday and holiday parties but we encourage healthy treats — please avoid sweet cakes and heavy frostings.

Medications

No prescribed medication may be brought into this school without a doctor’s note/original prescription labeled clearly on the container.  We need permission to administer medication, including over the counter, and there is a sign-in available in the office. Please give any medications directly to the office staff, not your child’s teacher.  Please ensure there are no medications in your child’s back pack or diaper bags, even over the counter medications.

Hours of operation and days we are closed:

We are open Monday through Thursday from 6am to 7pm, Friday from 6am to 9pm and Saturday from 8am to 9pm. We are open during all holidays.
